0Teamweek: The Solution To Better Project Managment
Teamweek is a web-based platform offering solutions for better project management, team planning and task scheduling. Tasks can be created and scheduled easily on the platform’s drag-and-drop interface. Users can then see a colour-coded timeline of work to be done over the course of the work week. The platform is targeted at SMEs, Freelancers, and Non Profits.
The Brand
The Teamweek brand is one that emphasises simplicity, efficiency and inclusiveness. This is evident from the web design and in the way the brand introduces the team behind the company.
The company website is a simple, clear, responsive design, bit for usability. Visitors can quickly find what they are looking for with neatly arranged tabs. It’s easy to be taken aback by the amount of colour on the site. The hues keep it modem and fresh rather than gaudy.
At the bottom of the page, there is a geo-function that communicates the company’s love for the user’s location (based on the IP address). It’s a simple thing, but again shows the playful nature of the brand.
A look at the “About” page further highlights the company’s beams feel by incorporating non-corporate imagery and using only first names for team members. There is room for the company pet dog too.
The company’s logo has a proprietary aesthetic, featuring a large “W” with different strokes, made of different patterns in FF Bau typeset. The flat W is spruced up by an alternating light and dark texture, which is visible when the logo is hovered over. This gives it a sense of dimensionality and yet again epitomises the modern, fresh, fun image.
More about Teamweek
With the Teamweek platform, team members are sorted into groups. This allows for easy creation of separate timelines for multiple teams. Tasks can be filtered by projects and can be viewed as a timeline or a list. There is a weekly or monthly view for the team’s schedule. Users can also see when a team member is overbooked. This is calculated by comparing the standard 8-hour workday against the estimated task duration provided by the user.
Teamweek allows integration with Basecamp and Trello. This ensures users, tasks and projects can be imported from these platforms. Users can also send tasks from platforms like Bitbucket, Github, Jira, Asana and similar platforms using Teamweek’s Google Chrome extension. The extension allows easy assignment of tasks after adding start and end times or sending them unassigned to the backlog. Users can keep track of time worked against their teamweek schedules, as a result of the integration with Toggl.
The platform allows users to set access rights for team members. Available options include setting to edit or only view for both events and schedules. Teamweek also includes the setting for public holidays by country covering most of The Americas, Europe and Asia.
The Teamweek brand is a good case study for businesses looking for simple but interesting ways to bring their package to the millennial demographic.
