Oracle

Oracle (also known as Oracle RDBMS or Oracle Database) is a database management system owned by the Oracle Corporation, a company which specializes in computer software, hardware systems and services, and which was founded in 1977 by Larry Ellison, Bob Miner and Ed Oates.

It evolved from the first commercially available RDBMS developed in 1970, to the Oracle Database 11g which was released in 2007 and finally upping its game to the recent 12c released in 2014.

Oracle has become one of the world’s leading supplier of software for information management and the world’s second largest independent software company according to Oracle Business strategy.

From inception, Oracle’s goal has been to innovate and lead the company while solving the problems of its customers /software users. This goal has been the driving force behind its 3 principles: Simplify, Standardize and Automate
